Where is Into The Burren?
Into The Burren is a family-owned Bed and Breakfast with Self Catering facilities and is also a Tour Experience provider. We are located in Co. Clare Ireland, close to Fanore Beach, mid-way on the Wild Atlantic Way, and in the coastal heart of the Burren. We are nestled at the foot of the Burren mountains and Burren Way and about 500 metres from the Atlantic Ocean!! Fanore Village is about a 3-minute drive away.
We are just off the R477 - one of Ireland's most spectacular coastal drives.

What facilities and areas of the property do we have use of?
We only take one booking at a time. This means that guests will have exclusive use of all facilities. Accommodation is upstairs in our newly renovated Studio Loft(s). There is a guest only entrance and front door. Upstairs there is a lobby area for tea, coffee or a glass of wine.
Guests will also have use of what we call the Hub with a chill-out/dining room area. A fully fitted-out kitchen gives the option for Self Catering. There is also an outside space with BBQ, Firewok and outdoor furniture.
We live downstairs with our own entrance. We will of course respect your wishes around privacy.
Is Breakfast included?
Yes, breakfast is included. It is a healthy continental style - cereals, porridge, bread, tea, coffee, juice, jams and fruit etc. Of course, if you want to cook your own breakfast you will have the full use of the kitchen to do this.
Are there any Animals at Into The Burren?
Looking for things to do with the children. In our field next door, we have 3 sheep, Sunshine, Blue & Belle. Guests are welcome to feed them – just ask and we can organise a safe way to do this.
We have a new addition to our animal family. In December 2021 we adopted a rescue dog - Lucky - a Border Collie. He is fun, loves attention & slippers!!!
What is your Cancellation Policy?
We understand your concern around Covid-19 and so in the event of Government Guidelines preventing you from travelling here, we would first offer you a booking at a later date. Should you decide that this does not work for you we would offer you a full refund of all monies paid.
Cancellations, other than those as necessitated under Covid Guidelines, will normally be treated as per the Cancellation Policy below. Under exceptional circumstances, we may waive this and offer full or partial refunds. This will be at our sole discretion and may require documentary evidence for the reason(s) for the cancellation.
Payment Schedule
25% Deposit due at time of booking.
The remaining balance is due 30 days before arrival.
Cancellation Policy
70% of paid prepayments (i.e Deposit) are refundable when cancelled 30 days before arrival or earlier.
50% of paid prepayments (i.e. Full Rental Charge) are refundable when cancelled 14 days before arrival or earlier.
25% of paid prepayments (i.e. Full Rental Charge) are refundable when cancelled 7 days before arrival or earlier.
0% refundable if cancelled thereafter.
In the event that, for whatever reason, we have to cancel the booking, we would first offer you a 10% discount on a booking at a later date. Should you decide that this does not work for you we would offer you a full refund of all monies paid
What precautions have you taken during the COVID-19 pandemic?
We were delighted to hear the recent announcement from the Government. At last, we think that we can all now see some light at the end of the tunnel. But we are still acutely aware of guests need for increased privacy and safety. We have therefore decided that we will continue with our current procedures for the next few months until the situation becomes a bit clearer.
‘Into The Burren’ has been awarded the Fáilte Ireland COVID-19 Safety Charter for both the Accommodation and Tour Experience sides of our business. This demonstrates that we are operating in line with current Government public health advice and with safety and cleaning protocols in place.
For your privacy and security, we have fenced off the property so that you will now have a totally private entrance. You will have exclusive use of the property.
Because of the very strict requirements around Covid-19 we now have numerous sanitising units, signage, key box, cleaning agents & equipment available for our guests. We have upgraded our cleaning procedures significantly.
How far are you from Fanore Beach and the Cliffs of Moher?
Fanore Beach, with its Blue Flag status, has been voted Co. Clares best beach and is a 3-minute drive from ‘Into The Burren’. It is ideal for all year round sea swimming. During the summer months, the beach is patrolled by the lifeguard service making it a great place for swimming and surfing. Our local surf school Aloha is located here.
'Into The Burren' is a little over half an hour’s drive to the Cliffs of Moher along the coast road.
Are you on the Burren Way?
Yes, we are on the Burren Way and we offer special packages for anyone planning to hike some or all of this long-distance trail. The route takes you on green roads, old cattle drives and the limestone pavement. On our doorstep, there are also a number of walking trails including The Caher Valley Looped walk, The Black Head Looped walk, and a hike from Fanore to Ballyvaughan.
Are there Cycling Routes near you?
There are four cycle routes with varying distances from 18km to 47km. Each route offers wonderful views of the local countryside with stunning coastal panoramas. There are numerous stop-off points along the way with excellent restaurants, pubs and other facilities and services.
Is Into The Burren on the Wild Atlantic Way
Yes, Into The Burren is located midway on the Wild Atlantic Way. We are on the R477 coastal route between Ballyvaughan and Lisdoonvarna. This road trip is one of the most spectacular drives on the Wild Atlantic Way. Our location is perfect for that local day trip or exploring further afield if you like.
What about Dark Skies?
There is an absolute minimum of light pollution here so that on a clear night the skies are awesome!
How close are you to the local pub & shop?
Our local pub - O’Donohue’s is a 5-minute drive away. Siopa Fanore our local shop is ideal for all your self-catering needs and is located across the road from the pub.
Distances to/from Into The Burren
Galway City is a little over an hour along the coast road.
Shannon Airport taking the M18 and exiting at Ennis is approx. 1hour 15mins.
Dublin City taking the M4, branching off to the M6 and then the M18 - it’s a little less than 3 hours’ drive.
